Yes. The Department as well as individual faculty members maintain close relationship s with many community partners. Students majoring in Sociology are able to work as interns in many of these agencies and companies and receive credit toward their degree. To find out more about internship possibilities contact the department and ask to speak with the internship coordinator. Our faculty are also actively involved in research. This gives undergraduate students who are interested in hands-on-research the opportunity to be involved in on-going projects. In addition, many faculty work with students to design their own research projects. Undergraduate students have presented their research at regional professional meetings and UCF's annual Showcase of Undergraduate research. Sociology students have also published in UCF's electronic Undergraduate Research Journal. To find out more about research opportunities contact any faculty member in the department.
